Voices of Deliverance Backup

Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Voices of Deliverance Backup uses Google account authorization, and what it stores. The application is a private operational backup utility for the Voices of Deliverance website; it is not a public service and has no public users.

Google authorization we request

The application requests exactly one Google OAuth scope and no others:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file

This is Google's per-file Drive scope. It grants access only to files the application itself creates. The authorization is used to create and manage the files created by this backup application — nothing else.

The application is not intended to browse, search, read, or modify unrelated Google Drive contents, and the scope it requests does not provide that ability. It requests no access to Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, Photos, or any other Google service.

What is stored, and where

Backup archives of the Voices of Deliverance website, together with their SHA-256 checksum sidecar files, may be stored in the Google Drive of the dedicated backup account. All of these files are created by the application, inside a single folder that the application itself created.

Backup archives contain the website's own operational data. They are transferred to Google over HTTPS, and each stored copy is read back and compared against its SHA-256 checksum before it is treated as a valid backup. Protection of the files while they are stored in Google Drive is provided by Google Drive itself; this application does not apply any additional encryption of its own, and makes no claim to do so.
